Whitford landfill has recently received new Caterpillar 836K Landfill Compactors. On the scales at approximately 56 tonnes, over 4.5 metres high and wheels over 1.8 metre diameter, they are by no means lightweight. This compactors is an imposing beast.

A Caterpillar 836K Landfill Compactor is the core equipment when it comes to dealing with reception of waste, breaking apart items to maximise space in the landfill, and crushing the material to squeeze the air out and create a hard surface. The operator sits in comfort with a sealed air conditioned cab, with all the modern conveniences of a commercial vehicle. Rolling back and forth to compact waste into layers on the landfill, this new addition allows us to produce the ideal environment for gas production and utilization.
